We rarely talk about Events, at which we are exhibiting, in our Arayla Blog but we have one coming up that is worthy of a very special mention. At the end of July, we will be participating in a Hawaii-Japan Project and are honoured to be showcasing at “The Ties That Bind” Summit. The Arayla London office has been full of excited chat about 3 very special topics …
Our LOVE of Japan
Totally in love with Japanese culture, fashion, food, landmarks, friendly people, and everything else! Team Arayla is hugely diverse and we’re proud that our team has Japanese heritage. In the early days of Arayla, we spent some time in Tokyo for a little Research & Development and it blew our minds! Tokyo was so vibrant, full of energy and colour, and exploding with life and vigour. Here are our standout favourite memories:
Etiquette. Oh, how we wish the whole world valued proper manners, and consideration towards others, as highly as Japan.
Vending machines. Oh, how we wish we had crazy vending machines selling canned t-shirts, floral arrangements, eggs, pizzas, and all sorts of randomness.
Japanese toilets. Oh, how we wish all toilets played music and kept our personal assets toasty warm.
Anime. Oh, how we wish we had this wardrobe (and the accessories!)
The Ties That Bind
It’s rare that the name of a Summit would provoke such an emotive reaction but the Arayla London girls have spent the whole week engrossed in this concept. The expression is used to describe a common idea or belief that is shared among people resulting in an unbreakable connection.
What a powerful concept. Stronger together than apart.
Some topics really tug at the heartstrings and this is one of those. We dug deep and talked about the connections we have in our lives, those we don’t, those we miss, and those we let pass us by.
Not just a Summit but a real and very powerful factor in all our lives.
Nana korobi ya oki
“Fall seven times, get up eight.”
We’re used to lots of similar English phrases but we all love this Japanese one, in particular, because of its visual resilience. We recognise this challenge in all aspects of our lives – at home, at work, with friends, with family and with ourselves. We suffer setbacks but we keep going …
As part of our Arayla family, we wish you the courage to accept the falls and the strength to get right back up again. We’re right beside you. Supporting you all the way.
Much love, from Arayla X
